Client: Irish Life – Definition Print Management

OVERVIEW: Irish Life wanted to create an original and fun break out room in their head office in Lower Abbey Street, Dublin 1. The brief was to create a fun, colourful and playful area for staff to take a break from the day to day stresses of work. The name ‘the hive’ was the only requirement made by the client.
SOLUTION: The resulting design was inspired by geometry, and mid-century modern design, with energetic colours playing a large role in the creative process.
Within the room, three zones were created. The first was an entertainment area with games consoles, TV’s and seating.
The second zone was focused around two bespoke mid-century modern style couches with Eero Saarinen’s famous tulip coffee tables supporting the theme.
The third zone featured two walls of artwork and a breakfast bar. One wall celebrates Dublin City’s landmarks with screen-printed pieces from Jando design.

The most playful aspect of the design, however, is the ball pit wall. This wall is the link between the outside world and the wonderland that was created inside the room.
The balls were suspended between the existing double glazed windows and can be seen from both the outside and the inside of the hive.

The Vinehall Displays team took care of every aspect of this project, from the design, planning, bespoke furniture production, to full installation and overall project management.

CLIENT FEEDBACK: Our clients at Irish life were extremely satisfied with the result and were a pleasure to work with on such an interesting project.
